COAST GUARD MEDEVACS 40-YEAR-OLD WOMAN NEAR GRAY'S HARBOR

SEATTLE - A 40-year-old woman who became ill was medically evacuated by the Coast Guard from a 56-foot fishing vessel today near Gray‘s Harbor, Wash.

At 3:13 p.m., Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria, Ore., received a call from the master of the charter fishing vessel Ranger requesting medical assistance for the woman.

An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from the air station and a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Gray's Harbor, Wash., were launched to assist within minutes.

The motor lifeboat crew escorted the vessel to Station Gray's Harbor, where the woman was transferred to the helicopter.

The helicopter crew transported the women to an airport near Gray's Harbor Community Hospital where an awaiting ambulance crew delivered her to the hospital.
