LOCAL SAFETY AGENCIES PUSH SAFETY FOR 2008 SEAFAIR

MEDIA AVAILABILITY

SEATTLE - The heads of the Coast Guard, Washington State Patrol, King County Police Department,  Seattle Police Department, Seattle Fire Department  and Seafair will hold a media availability after filming public service announcements at the Elliott Bay Marina at Smith Cove, Thursday, July 17, at 12 p.m.

In addition the Coast Guard's newest resource for search and rescue the Response Boat - Medium (RBM) will be available at the event. The 45-foot RBM is being built by Kvichak Marine Industries in Kent, Wash., and is designed to replace the Coast Guard's aging fleet of 41-foot small boats.
