COAST GUARD RESPONDS TO 130-FOOT SAILING VESSEL AGROUND

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard responded to the 130-foot sailing vessel Adventuress that ran aground in Wasp Passage, San Juan Islands, Wash., today. The Washington State Ferry Sealth along with Vessel Assist were able to remove all of the passengers and crew safely from the vessel. SEATTLE - The Coast Guard responded to a distress call from the sail training vessel Adventuress after it ran aground in Wasp Passage, San Juan Islands, Wash., at approximately noon today.  

Vessel Assist towed the 130-foot vessel to Friday Harbor, Wash., where it will be inspected for damage.

No pollution or injuries have been reported at this time.

The Coast Guard is conducting an investigation as to the cause of the grounding.
