SEATTLE - The Coast Guard airlifted a man near Charleston, Ore., today.
Frank Schneidle, 39 years-old, sustained injuries while walking along the beach close to the Cape Arago Lighthouse. Coast Guard Group North Bend, Ore., received a request for assistance at 12:30 p.m. from the Charleston Fire Department.
Group North Bend launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to the scene. The injured man was then airlifted to Coast Guard Air Station North Bend and transported to the hospital by awaiting emergency medical personnel from the local area.
