COAST GUARD HOISTS INJURED MAN OFF MOUNTAINVIDEO AVAILABLE | |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89MNjQ_xW0E Coast Guard Sector Seattle received a call from Jefferson County Dispatch at 7:45 p.m. that a 64-year-old male had been injured and was immobile on the summit. A Coast Guard HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles launched to the scene. The helicopter crew hoisted the injured male from an altitude of just over 7,000 feet and transferred him to Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles. There Port Angeles Fire Department personnel transported him to Olympic Medical Center for treatment. This hoist is the highest altitude rescue yet achieved by the Coast Guard in the region. The helicopter crew included: Lieutenant Dan Leary from Boston, Mass., Lieutenant Junior Grade Christian Polyak from Belcamp, Md., Aviation Survival Technician First Class John Linnborn from Orange County, Calif., and Aviation Mechanic Technician First Class Mike Cook from Canberra, Australia.
